Pen Pen Pal

I ran an ad "Prison Pen Pal Needed"
The answers to my dreams were quickly exceeded.
Always the same thing here, nothing exciting
I found a lonely woman needing some romantic writing.
She said she was tired of all these men and the dating scene
I took a look around and said I know just what you mean.
I told her I'm an average Joe without movie star good looks
I have half a brain and I like to read good books.
I really thought this woman was an angel and a dandy
she sent me money orders and boxes of candy.
My pen pal said she had average looks
loved dogs, was sweet and loved to cook.
I would like to see who I would soon be kissing
but I noticed from her letters that her pictures were missing.
I'm finally being released, time to leave this place
shes going to pick me up and I can see her face.
Im not really choosy when it comes to a mate
but she was so ugly I ran back in the gate.
