Shutting the door

by Ole Carsten   Aug 1, 2012

In life and in beauty, simplicity rules
Leaving some parts of you behind in the past.
Love is different now, all is behind us,
Reading the divorce paper again.

Soon I am missing the warm hand,
Walking in pair, in public.
Reading faces passing by,
Now you are one of them.

I really like this poem despite the saddness that divorce brings. I look at in a way of closure and moving forward to the future. It was well written and thoughtful. Keep writing you have a gift for it.

Sad to know you feel this pain. Keep writing and I hope you find some release and comfort with the words you write.

I like the idea on here that you have wrote about being 2 people walking by strangers and studying them and their faces, then it turns out you walk as one, passing each other who infact now feels like another stranger. Such a sad fact in life that happens, especially after such things as divorce as the pain and anger can be so cruel.

    Keep writing.

Oh, this breaks my heart. :(
Sometimes in marriages, you just lose track of what truly made the relationship work, you take each other for granted and just don't feel the spark anymore, some even become bored. Marriage is a another career, have to keep working at it.

I'm truly sorry you received divorced papers. However, maybe as this door shuts, another one will open and you will realize what truly makes you happy.

    Keep writing!

We don't know what we have until it's gone
often we take people or our other significant
for granted. The greass alays looks greener on the other side. Very sad poem
