My Robot

by joseph santacruz   Aug 3, 2012

Of all the things I have bought
I really love my friend robot

I like to hear him click and clank
beep and whir....if I may be frank

I feed him screws, bolts and tin foil
then watch him wash it down with motor oil.

And his rust I must abolish
I rub him down with steel polish.

We argue about music then settle
I like jazz he likes heavy metal.

He never really needed alot
but one day pleaded for a fembot (Duh! female robot)

I peer inside to see his soul
circuit boards and steel wool.

Id like to take him swimming I think
but then again I think he'd sink.

When I reach to shake his hand
I find a cold cold tin man.

Of all the robots I have seen
he is one screaming hot machine.

A lot of happiness is what I feel
spending time with this man of steel.

And one day if our friendships marred
I can recycle him at the nearest scrap yard.
