The Secret Art of Humanism

What separates reason from faith?
What separates black from white?
Who made the universe, the stars and sky
From whence the first atom made?
In school we're taught the power of reason
To question what 'pears to be real

By power of mind we divide knowledge
to separate fact from fiction
But we use our sight, our smell, our ears
which can only take you so far.
Every generation has held a belief
that proves to be true indeed

But when it's logic its called science
and when it's faith its called myth
We judge ideas with our minds and thoughts
As if our logic can find truth
Help us Lord this generation of man
Who believes in his mind more than you.
