Decoding the Mad

by Samuel Ernst   Aug 25, 2012

The sounds of the sea beseeched far set landlocked humble keeper,
To bless the voice of demons in rapturous response in Kilimanjaro,
Japans far off coast awaits young men who never left home before,
Singing like the birds feeling naturally astounded in imperfect form,
Serving uniforms like numbers to protect a country,
Music sounding like Sinatra's Jazz band blazing in the back,
Like the Tower of Babble tugging to learn the languages no one cares for,
In modest esteem pinning perfect art in forms of words played on imagination,
Describing the eyes that block a passage to a peaceful soul like tinted glass,
Confusing it is that no one will know what I am even saying really,
Decoding the words of mad prophets into religious arguments,
Uphold the amendments to the first degree, it's not war its murder of words,
Let us debate, shall we?

It was an enjoyable read. I liked the use of different words showing your wide vocabulary. The words easily created an image that flowed freely within my mind as I read. And I like how you ended it with a question about the great debate. Keep it up.

I like the way you have incorporated many countries, biblical features and issues viewed today in one poem!
I like how you use more unique wording displaying that you have a very wide vocabulary!

    I found this very powerful...
"it's not war its murder of words"
It carries so much meaning that one cannot begin to start describing!
people often take for granted how harmful words can be in actual fact it can be war.

You are very good at painting an image of the poem to the reader!
thanks for sharing your great talent!
