Is Ignorance Bliss

We live in a country, safe and secure
Do we really believe, are visions obscure
What I mean to say, is we choose not to see
What happens in countries, distanced by sea

Sierra Leone, the small diamond land
War torn and shaken, no future plan
Plague, death, starvation, the reality stands
But hey look at us, we have rocks on are hands

The greed of America, I speak exploitation
Is why Congo holds second, in starving nations
Most mineral rich land, in all of the world
Yet people are starving, have your toes start to curl

The rebels they live, to kill and to steal
The massacred body's, is nothing but real
Sudan hold the place, land that's most feared
Now moving on, where woman get sheared

The Islamic world, the woman are caged
With opinions and wants, drive a mans rage
100 degrees, a hot summer day
Women wear blankets, comply and obey

Asia still thrives, with consumer demand
Corporations save money, buy from their land
Asia is smart, in financial regard
10-year-old girl, cheap and works hard

When you look down, that rock on your hand
Given by husband, from a blood diamond land
The gold in your safe, the copper made art
From a starving small country, where is your heart

The movies you watch, on your 50-inch screen
Of war, guns, and death, is a reality scene
Complain about bills, your Visa dropped you
The caged woman get beat, I guess nobody knew

Online shopping, a budget-less cart
So why the hell, do you shop at Wal-Mart
An extra dollar you keep, that's all that you save
At least you stay dumb, to the 10 year old slave

You problems are small, shut up and move on
Bigger problems exist, some kids wont see dawn
So you make a choice, what is it you choose
Admire your ring, or put your self in their shoes
