A broken girl

by Depressed and Healing Sadie   Sep 4, 2012

Underneath the tough girl is a broken girl.
No one understands her pain.
No one can see the real her.
When she smiles, its sad.
When she laughs, its fake.
When she's alone, she crys.

Can't anyone see her for herself?
She's sad.
She's depressed.
She's alone.
She's emotionally broken.

A boy sees her for who she is.
The one that helps her through.
She is no longer sad.
The boy that nurtured her heart.
No one can take that hope away.
She can't be hurt no more.

Underneath the tough girl is a healing girl.

*Note: This poem is about how a certain friend helped me realize that hiding behind fake smiles, fake laughs, and being distant use to make me feel so alone.
