Showers

I love how showers resemble rain;
Those thick warm droplets on your skin;
How we can adjust it to suit our own needs.

If only we could do the same with our lives, sadly.
If this was so I'd still be with my first love;
Holding each other tight as the water forms the lines of our beings.

I would hear my sister's laugh in the next room;
As I would persuade her to jump in and have a spring feastival.

My father would not have left my mother and I.
And I would not be smoking weed to hide my pain!

But, when I step into the shower water dripping down my legs I momentarily forget about the pain.
It's like the water is rinsing away yesterday's cares and sins;
Not only clean, I'm revived as a new being.

When it becomes flesh versus soap and water versus skin,
With a small structure in the mist
I praise the shower for momentarily making me high when I forget who I am and absorb the rain.
That twenty minute yet life changing rain.

Don't deny me that!!
