Humility

by MyHalozChokinMe   Sep 17, 2012

My own prison-

jaded in expectation of

how love should appear,

how love should serve.

Shrouded in fear,

in the guise of bravado and

steel, seeking relief through

the Gods I create;

Gods of reprieve,

Gods I esteem on

pillars of myth,

Gods of "enough."

Pity me, the fool

who pities myself

as my Gods do fall

and their dust steals

my breath,

my life.

Anger and blame give way

to defeat as the perceived

throne supreme fails.

A mirage.

I fall a fool among the mortals.
