Insomnia

by MyHalozChokinMe   Sep 30, 2012

My good night's
sleep is sealed
with a child-proof cap;
a life-line
when my heart
begins to beat
beatbeat
beatbeatbeatbeat
and my thought's
begin to swirl-

Nightmares kept at bay,
the harsh edges
of terror sanded
smooth by a
tiny
blue
pill.

Thank you -- for writing such a common routine that we go through with this. It was great creativity using the word beat in repitition as fast as it would go when we are trying to sleep. You described this well.

You took insomnia and created a very unique piece... I loved the way you ended it with tiny blue pill.... I also admire the repetition of "beat" I think my heart went in rhythm as I read this piece :-) love this!!
