Big Event

by Esther Thornburg   Sep 30, 2012

An event was big enough to alter reckoning of time
It changed the accounting of years, world-wide.
The reality of the One from beyond the space divide
Changed from before B.C. to A.D.
The day left an indelible mark on histories line.

The Maker's plans were unknown to some
They had long been told, He would come.
He walked among men who knew not the Promised
One.
On Calvary's Hill they knew not what they had done
Did not realize the Promised One had come.

He had finished what He came to do
It was understod only by those who knew.
He prayed, "forgive them, they know not what
they do.
The Kingdom was reoffered, again, anew.
They rejected their King, not knowing what they did.

To the nations of the world, salvation story is heard.
It is recorded in God's mighty loving word.
The Spirit dwells within the believer today
To show the true and living way.
It will live on into the eternal day.
