Sucker Fish

by MyHalozChokinMe   Oct 6, 2012

I'd be better off dead than sinking
here, burdened by these heavy,
leaden thoughts inside my head.

These wayward wisps of wishful dreams
weigh me down, holding me fast
beneath sorrow's stock-still waters.

Ensnared by the insidious scent
of self-directed aspersions cast
carelessly like baited hooks.

My ambitions lie bloated and
belly-up before the beckoning
lure of an inescapable destiny.

Wow deep message, it almost felt like a tounge twister in certain places with your words, a few began with the same letters in a row and it made it quite unique for a deeper poem to have this.

    Nice work.
