Exit Wounds

by Watercolourz   Oct 10, 2012

Now you're finally alone,
Crushed mind with a heart of stone,
Such a troubled man, listens to none,
Synthetic soul, faded color tone,

A fast fall from grace,
Hit the ground and left no trace,
You've already been replaced,
Your name soon to be erased,

You used to be a bright flash of light,
Now you're out of sight,
If I saw you now,
Would you be the same as when I saw you last,
Are you the one I know,
Please tell me how much time has passed,

How many times did you cross the line,
How much hurt did you feel this time,
I hope it's not too much to ask,
But was there something real behind the mask?

It won't help me to hear a fact,
When that's the way you chose to act,
Is there something true we don't know about,
Give us some faith amongst the doubt,

All this hate in your misery,
All these scars in your memory,
At least tell the world you love her,
It's hard to say goodbye when it's over,

You had so much to learn,
And you need to know,
That your time is up,
Kid... let it go.

    This was a great piece.

Is there something true we don't know about,
Give us some faith amongst the doubt,

Sent chills up my spine. I absolutely loved that. What an emotional write. Fantastic. I felt like I was feeling every emotion within the poem. The rhyme scheme was really interesting as well.

    Wonderfully done.

He who conquers rage, wins the fight. Indeed beautifully worded.
