Where We Are

by Beautiful Chaos   Oct 14, 2012

Talk
But no one listens
They hear
Care accordingly, about what they want
Marching to the beat of their own drum
Just as you
All selfish in their own way

Scream silently
Inside yourself
Where it's safe
Where the poet is born
With the pen hand of loneliness
Now warm to you

Write
They all read
Things they don't understand
Emotions they're numb to
Words they love and hate
But can't let go of

Time tries to be a friend
We waste it
Take it for granted
Blame it for going by
While we were too busy to notice
Ego

Pride
Disguised as strength
Independence
Leaving behind the things we need
Embracing the safety of solitude
If not a sin
It is a shame

The birthplace of art and destruction
If you're lucky, rebirth
Like a phoenix from the ashes
If you truly learn
Change is inevitable
The seed of survival
