Legacy

by MyHalozChokinMe   Oct 21, 2012

Each scar, each indentation-
Reminders of an altered self,
the embodiement of her spirit
screams survivor.

Each symbol of strength,
she wears like a polished
piece of jewelry;
Indicative of her pride
from battles fought
and won.

Every deviated line of
demarcation calls attention
to the pain, to the past.

Staring into the shell, looking
for the pearl inside; She strives
to find beauty where her wounds
are alive, indelible as life.

The scars define who she is.

They justify the doubt within.

A plight kindled by the light of fate.

Her imperfections are proof.

Thank you.. once again you have expressed things I feel in a way I could never do through words this powerful. I assume you could imagine me relating to this and understanding your words.

    Thank you.
