Purgatory

by MyHalozChokinMe   Nov 7, 2012

You stumble, you fall, you trip over words
unspoken. You mistake disaster for paradise
and tell yourself tragedy is a thing of the past.

You stepped too far off the plank and now you're
heading feet first for the bottom of this sea.

You blame it on everyone else.

Deep inside you know you are the gasoline
fueling the fire, burning so intensely, with
every intention of making crumbs of what
you spent so long building.

You study the photographs and memories of
what used to be. Hoping they can puzzle back
the pieces of your fallen prime.

What you don't see is that you are your own demise.

Don't assume you know the facts.

It's the facts that know you.

The only facts you know are the
ones that haunt your dreams.

A tragedy all it's own, you dwindle on
the windowsill of your tarnishing life.

You call this your destiny.

I see it like it is-

Your purgatory.
