One and The Other

by MyHalozChokinMe   Nov 28, 2012

Sometimes, I'm the one..

The one with the astute mind,
the composure of a geisha
and the mouth of an arbitrator.

I am the one with the heart of
a mother, the courage of a survivor
and the eyes of an equal.

I have wisdom and responsibility
beyond my years yet I have never
let the child in me run away.

I'm old enough to admit when I'm afraid
and young enough to laugh at life.

But, sometimes I'm the other...

who doesn't know the answer,
whose body can only go so far,
whose voice may be able to talk
down a crowd yet cannot change
the single mind of a mob.

I am the other whose heart struggles
to beat, whose courage can be measured
next to that of a cowards and whose eyes
only find resources of strength in the
ones I call my friends.

My outlook on life is what defines
me and it is always evolving.

I am the one and I am the other.

Don't you forget it.
