Stormy Days

by angelduv   Dec 1, 2012

Storm clouds roll in, on the sunny side of town,
Guess I always knew I'd be the one to let you down,
I smile as you leave, but turn my back and let the tears fall,
Keep quiet because I know, to lose you would mean I'd lose it all...

So I whisper to the wind, as the lonely song bird sings,
Keep the tears from falling,
Until the wolves are calling,
It's just another night, of letting shame set you right,
Oh hold yourself together,
From now until forever,
It's just another day of pretending it's all okay,

persistent winds force the withering trees to bow in defeat,
And A mans arrogant ways mark the beginnings of deceit,
All that lay between the fall and i is a worn and tethered rope,
Nothing gives me strength but the remains of wounded hope,
Day by darkening day, I lose grip as I lose trust,
Thread by splitting thread, I'll embrace it if I must.

So I whisper to the wind as the lonely songbird sings,
Keep the tears from falling,
Until the wolves are calling,
It's just another night, of letting shame set you right,
Oh hold yourself together,
From now until forever,
It's just another day of pretending its all okay,

Sunshine resides, welcoming the night sky,
Count the stars to fall asleep,
Regret the bonds that make me weak,
Luminescent moon above, is this the solemn curse of love?
Weigh the pain to let it all go,
Dry the tears that so often flow.
This is just how it is.
How it will always be.
