In the primitive time
Of our uncivilised society,
Came colonisation, our univited guest.
We offer her our treasures,
While we were not yet sure
Of her exploitative venture
On our strange shore.
We offer her our land
and she looted the goods off our table land,
while we are left with crumbs on ground.
She became a parasite
that was driven outside
with the lives of our heros past.
In those days of the scramble,
our society was scamed to crumble
with no one found to grumble
because, we were left with crumbs
education, trade and the nation,
which we consider as civilisado.
Our posterity is the victim
of an ill-fated education
patterned after the ''gold standard''
of british colonial universities,
where graduates are trained
for white-collar jobs
that are no where to be found
at the neglect of their gifts and talents.
As shattered and cramped
the educational system is,
We struggle through life's course
to get a degree from a school course,
only at the end of the day,
to be employed by unemployment.
In the same vein, they post to us,
Costly professional and master degres
Courses that do not provide master jobs,
neither do they provide master pays.
After colonisation, the system
Of government were changed,
Leaders which are agents of change,
those we trust to blaze the trail
has gone off the rail
and now we pray
because we are left to derail.
Even those we have elected
have left us rejected
with no hope injected
to kept us from being dejected.
Colonisation has succeeded
in bringing major tribes together
yet, undivided in hostility to eachother.
Riots, religious and civil war rallied
their co-existence as a nation.
They are united as a nation
but divided in thoughts and action.
