The Crow

by Miss Krueger   Dec 9, 2012

The debris of my heart, creating such foil
It strangles me from within
Ambivalence haunts me, a scattered mind
Pieces that float in the wind

They search for a meaning, they search for the truth
Two paths that belong in a dream
I anxiously dwell by the crossroad's first sign
A crow is beholding the scene

"I'll love you forever", it croaks from afar
A slithering tear on my cheek
A candid shimmer, the moonlight is bright
The liquid turns into a lake

And all of a sudden, you vanquish my fear
I have to succumb to the truth
Axiomatic, the words from its beak
A piece still belongs to you

You live in my heart, you're mine in my dreams
Illusions will have to suffice
Because I am the crow, I love from afar
You'll never untangle my lies
