Eidetic (Acrostic)

by MyHalozChokinMe   Dec 13, 2012

Epiphanous affliction.
Ignorance is bliss, but I
Do not have that luxury.
Etched into memory,
Tantalizing, succulent
Idiosyncrasies. I swallow
Cataclysmic reactions.

Hmm...its disturbing that I didn't deliver with precision. May be I need to dial down on over thinking. It leads to over analyzing.

Eidetic, could refer to the possession of an eidetic memory of the author. But the context clearly, does not signify such a situation.

The author here, can clearly and vividly recall certain memories. A visual imagery of events, that have led to an emotional trauma. Which to date, lingers as a reminiscent fragment of memory, in time. The human mind can only recollect 60% of the visual images of any recent event. Which suggests the author has been traumatized by a specific series of events. The events need not portray the exact color of the clothing or the surrounding, but certain dialogues of a conversation and the chaos of separation caused against one's will.

The author relives the memories on a daily basis. It is equivalent to possessing a clip of the event and playing it, rewinding to the moments again and again, just to feel significant or insignificant, depending on the nature of the event. Perhaps humans revisit an array of memories because they had built their lives around another human being or an object of desire, thus life constituted of that particular entity, a tangent to their circle. And one is left with no choice but to relive those events in order to feel. Moving on is a slow process. And some never move on. They remain static and clinged onto their beloved entity. But going by the context, the events could also be the number of decisions that the author may have implemented in the past which have led to the unpleasing present. The circumstances of the present are the resultant consequences of the past. Each decision of the past was shaping the future then, which now is the present. May be the author is regretting his/her decisions of the past, and the changes they have brought about in his/her life and the ones around him/her. Which could in some cases be received by critical reactions, from society or his/her relatives. You know the obvious "I told you so"? ..

The inclusion of Epiphanous could mean a sudden comprehension of the essential nature of an entity. Or an intuitive capture of reality via an entity. The term could be used in either a philosophical or literal sense to signify that the claimant has "found the last piece of the puzzle and now sees the whole picture," or has new information or experience, often insignificant by itself, that illuminates a deeper or numinous foundational frame of reference. The author could have on a random day woken up to his/her reality, in a sense. The epiphany of realization, revelation of life measured in a series of events, conducted through the past, to the present, to the future. Thus completing the circle of life along the diameter of the loop, resulting in inevitable death.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    Very well written.

      When I wrote this...

      I had experienced a moment where ...
some things seemed to "click" and a realization settled in...
And, the feeling was less than pleasurable..

      =)
