The Score

by MyHalozChokinMe   Dec 18, 2012

The definitive work is never done, it's always
under construction. A good work ethic drives
a writer to keep on going-

Realizing my time is finite, I tirelessly seek
that elusive light that sheds clarity on the things
that I don't know. Never content with the
first draft, always cognizant of the aftermath,
because expression can be quaint, it always
finds itself on trial by a committee of saints.

For I speak subjectively, to an objective following.

Always prepared to defend my work, because
there's worth in a womans word. So I'm
conscripted into a war of etymons, armed
with pen, paper and common sense...

Posting scripts of past and present experiences,
each sentence blesses or condemns. Personal
failures and success are documented
without dereliction.

Knowing that, what doesn't kill you makes you
stronger, because in order to lead one must
learn to follow.

Discretion though, is the best teacher, so I use
my poetic license to recite rhymes, and hopefully
stimulate a few minds, even this effort can be
precarious when those awake prefer to sleep.

My mission is without commission, giving
philanthropic discourses, so you won't go
hungry from the dearth of creativity you
feed on, for poetry was intended to
elevate, not vegetate.

So contrary to declarations that have been
made, my point remains the same-

Never to rest on laurels until the score has been settled.

    @.@!!!

    My, my, my...

The ink of truth laid bare for all to see!

And you call me a "spitfire"...
Granted you have far more elegance than me :) ...
But either or... The point is still made.

    Into the favourites :)

Theirs inspiration and strong will in this piece...
I'd say your words live in "life".
