Long Ago Bound

by Polaroid   Dec 20, 2012

I thought forgetting would be easy
like forgetting the words to a song
I thought our love could easily break
that our promises would turn out wrong

And so I hid my feelings deep inside
But still you found a way
To break the walls and breach the gates
I don't know what else to say

I told myself moving would be simple
That it was really no big deal
I guess I thought I was strong enough
To drown the love I feel

Like so many other things
Turns out I was wrong
And the love that we share is true
Though we've been apart for so long

Hidden in our innocence
was a truth we hadn't found
An endless love, forever
to which we'd been bound

So when we had to part
we had no chance, even then
To ever be able to let go
and love the same again.
