China Dolls

by Polaroid   Nov 30, 2012

I dreamt that
we were china dolls
perched on high shelves
far apart
trying to find a way
to one another.

if we jumped,
we would shatter.
and if we stayed,
we were trapped.

Reaching the undeniable
realization of our fragility
and the terrible tragedy
of our futures.
The futures that remain
so difficult
to grasp.

Expecting a failure
because the hope of happiness
is too much
to hope for.

Understanding more
every day yet,
treading so carefully
because I'm still so afraid
of breaking.

Endless possibilities
I don't know what will happen
If I take the risk and try,
to find my way
back home to you.

    Expecting a failure

i think a small change is better here

    Expecting the disappointment
    because the hope of happiness
    is too much
    to hope for.
It's your poem and your wish
