The day I walked away from you

by Ash   Dec 24, 2012

If only you knew how it breaks me apart,
Being so far away is like a dagger pushing right through my heart.
Nothing feels right without you by my side,
If only you could see the tears I continue to hide.

Without you life is empty and incomplete,
Trying to find a way to stop this heart that continues to bleed,
Craving to hear from you one last time,
Addicted to something I'll never be able to call mine.

It may be true that I was slowly falling for you,
And I made you a part of everything I do,
Shared my pain, sorrow and happiness too,
Never thought everything you said would open wounds so new.

Everytime it felt like your life was falling apart,
I gave you another reason for a fresh start.
I never hesitated to put that smile back on your face,
Never stopped caring or finding ways to help you maintain your faith.

"I love you" and "I'm sorry" is all that you seem to say,
But when I need you the most you always look the other way.
And it's true that I may expect nothing from you,
But that doesn't stop the pain when you do things the way you do.

As if i don't even matter and I mean so little to you,
Just another person in your life to play with as you do.
So many questions running through my mind,
Unaswered they will remain as darkness and hopelessness I continue to find.

So tell me dear...
If tomorrow you wake up and realise I'm not there,
Will you look for me or won't you care
How long before you find a replacement for this love you claim is true,
Will you still remember all the things I did for you,
Or will your only memory be "The day I walked away from you"
