Too Strong to Surrender Too Weak to Try

by Jeff Weiner   Jan 8, 2013

The world seemed to be crumbling
Underneath his slipping feet,
Demons approaching from every angle
Attacking his bright demeanor,

Family and friends reached out
His hand getting weak,
Losing grip on what should be
Wondering why the ladder is always kicked,

Too strong to surrender
Too weak to try,
He has been here before
Many times.......

I'm sure we all can relate to this. We keep trying to do what's best for us, in our lives, but we get comfortable on that ledge and don't try as hard as could to get to safer ground. It gets even worse, when you feel that there's no one there that can help or understand, so you grown content, even though your mind is telling you to fight. Great poem :)

Too many times we find the daily struggle sabotaged by change. Reality loses its comfort for it no longer presents safe haven.
When even family and friends abandon their support, for whatever reason, we lose the last vestige of sanity.
At that point only the dogged determination to muddle on through keeps us going.
