If It's Not Too Much To Ask

by Jason Rainey   Jan 10, 2013

Do you remember that time that I asked you, if you wanted to go for a ride
It was me giving you a hint, that I wanted to get you alone
Do you remember those little moments, when everything seemed just fine

We didn't worry about time or management,
As long as we were together
We didn't care at all about sticks and stones,
As long as we were together
We should have tried harder or better,
As long as we were together

Do you remember everything that we said or did
Do you recall all the words that came from within
Do you remember everything that we said or did,
When we were together?

I really didn't think so

I wanted to believe
But I really didn't think so

If it's not too much to ask
I would like for you to ask
Me if I'd like to talk
Maybe strike another spark

This minute
Is equal to that old minute
No regrets from the past
The present holds the key
To the future of you and me

I quite enjoyed reading this poem and it is obvious that it came from some real emotions, which is crucial and you made that point very easily.

Towards the end there were some places where I felt the poem stuttered a bit, the flow wasn´t quite there, but your wording is flawless and you don´t tug and pull at the poem in order for it to become something it isn´t. All in all, a good piece!

This part absolutely melted me... haha. The overall strength of this write and the obvious doubt you've place here is great. You have put your emotions into words well. Very good (:
