How the west was lost

by joseph santacruz   Jan 14, 2013

I realized I had the devil to pay
but I guess sooner or later even death takes a holiday
Talk about being put to the test
I felt like a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest.
My aim was true but this sharp shooter gets no thanks
another hyper sniper loaded with blanks.
I had a few things but I lost face
when life became a wild goose chase.
But.....somewhere someplace over the rainbow
for todayI have to win, place or show.
No more riding shotgun, stick a fork in me Im done
the west was lost, nothing won, cant even find my shotgun.
Not like your father. A decorated veteran had what it takes
In my world decorations are for cakes.
Im a straight A student in the school of hard knocks
to see where Im coming from would have taken a hundred Sherlocks
Assuming the Identification they lent you
now I ask myself who are you? who sent you?
Signed myself up for mental observation
the Thorazine shuffle, is that my destination?
Then love rocked my world, the bomb!, oh my God!
to quickly came the bomb squad.
My tickets is paid for on this train so crazy
now every thing seems so chaotic and hazy
Right now life finds me on the skids
I wish Id known "silly rabbit tricks are for kids!"
