Lost Life

by shakil ahmed   Feb 3, 2013

My eyes donot want to overflow any more,
The cup of my heart is empty,
It does not want to be filled anymore,
My soul has put on its robe,
It does not want to dance any more,
With quivering fingers I raise my hands towards the sky,
No one answers anymore,
I am being consumed by the quick sands of wants and time,
No one offers his hands anymore,
Oh! I am here, hear me please,
None but vultures have time anymore!

Thanks Amreen and thanks Rupert. The keener our ears become the clearer the songs of our heart we hear.

Nice poem, i liked the imagary of the line "i am consumed by the quicksand of wants and time" so true in life, we can end up gaining the whole world but loosing our souls.
