Lava

by Gary R Priester   Feb 11, 2013

From the depts of the earth I'm born this day
To the surfice I rush as it trembles' and shakes
I break free from the mountain and flow down its face
I'm cooling and slowing till I freeze in my place
Now I sit lonely in this desolate waste
As time passes slowly through years and decades
Things change around me with plants, animals, and decay
I to am changing as I become frayed
Now I am buried as eons of time slip away
Pushed deeper and deeper as pressure comes in waves
I'm getting hotter, now molten
And slowly I fade
