Jail love

by Karis Byrd   Feb 11, 2013

Love is like jail.
Its perfect when your on the visting side and everything is fine.
You feel safe because all the bad stuff is locked away.
You see the hate and crime around but its not you.
You go home to a nice relationship.
You and your spouse forever in love.
What happens when he kills someone.
That someone being your heart.
You locked him up, away from your heart
Keeping him from ever hurting anyone again.
You keep your trust behind bars and guard it with your life.
You see his conditions are terrible but know he deserves his punishment.
He used a knife called trust to hurt you.
Now he is ripped of all weapons such as love and comfort.
The handcuffs representing him being caught in a lie.
Then jail enters your life being the only thing you know.
Thinking that once apon a time that inmate used to be loving and your everything.
Or was he?
Was he always a killer?
Did he set out to hurt you?
Now that you know what he is capabale of doing you put your security system up.
Will you ever be able to love that person now that you know what they are capable of?
Jail changes you more than anyone will ever know.
