Tragic Silence

by Daylight Lucidity   Feb 18, 2013

We remain in such tragic silence,
We once poured out our love into the night sky
And told the other we would always be together... Lies...
Now my tears glisten in the light of your diamond
Not the one I planned to slip upon your fragile finger,
Nay, you belong to him, and are no longer my irrevocable love
My heart, belittled, wishes you shall cease to linger
For do you not think I have yet to bear enough
Of your flaming, unforgivable, departure from the life you planned
To create with I, you promised to whisk me away
I see now, in this tragic silence, things so abruptly changed
And I promise to you, I will never love you another day.
Your poison seeped into my mind, paralyzing my thoughts
As your venom, stinging my lips
From our last dreadful, regretful, kiss
Has provided an outlet for my despair, now my soul is lost.
My tears leave behind flaming streaks
Upon my porcelain skin
And burn your betrayal into my cheeks
This way when I want you, I look within a mirror, and see the scars
For this is the only way to let the healing begin
Awful it is that I can no longer look at the stars
As your face is always kept up within their majesty
My goodbye spoken to them and you
It is nothing but horribly true
And we remain in silence, forever, tragically.
