You'll See

by Loveless Dreamer   Feb 22, 2013

They said I'd never be anything in life
Telling me I was a failure
Making me a statistic
Never having faith in what I do
But I will be something in life
You'll see

They told me I was worthless
Telling me I wasn't worth time
Making me feel like nothing
Never there to help me see
But I am worth something
You'll see

They yelled that I'll never find love
Telling me nobody would ever love me
Making me believe them for a second
Never taking my hand as I reached out
But I can and will find love
You'll see

They said I'll never be enough
Telling me I'd never get anything in life
Making up horrible lies
Never showing me they're proud
But I am enough
You'll see

Now here I stand today
To prove you all wrong
To show you just how well I'm doing
To make you believe in me

I did amount to something in life
I'm a girl with a promised future
I wasn't a failure, but a success
I did turn into a statistic; for the graduating class
You may have put me down, but I was brought back up
You see, I am something

I'm worth a lot
I mean something to the world
I have a worth in everything I do
I realized I didn't need you
You see, I'm worth much more without you

I found love
Unconditional love from my growing family
My friends love me and always have
They took my hand when I reached out
I don't believe your lies
You see, because I've always had love

I am enough
I've gotten so much out of life
I got great people around me
I'm surrounded by people who are proud
You see, I am enough

You were wrong all along.
