Human Nature, Mother War

by Jaun Grobler   Mar 1, 2013

They are leaving tomorrow, to destroy more lives
They tell each other that there will have peace the more they fight.

They are leaving tomorrow, to drop another bomb
They tell each other that the woman and children are terrorists.

They are leaving tomorrow, to sink another ship
They tell each other it might have been full of criminals or enemies.

They are leaving tomorrow, to launch another missile
They tell each that it will only harm their enemies, but it harms me.

Have I not given my all to them?
They have torn apart families on my back and even shaped their children to believe the same lies.
I will die each day, again and again, as I do each time they fight. My soil will break, my trees will burn and my rivers will cry.

They will leaving tomorrow, to hurt each other
But worst of all is that they are leaving tomorrow to hurt me a little more.
