Night and Day

by beauty from ashes   Mar 4, 2013

Night was cold, shivers up my spine
Pale skin, cold hands, red eyes.
The night held no comfort, the sheets held no warmth
Weary lids finally closed but the heart still beat fast.
Slowly the darkness swept over and made that day the past.

Woke to words of comfort, whispers of peace
What is that warmth? The sunlight stretched rays across my face.
Birds sang happily and a fresh breeze swept into my soul
Filled me with light and helped me see things clear.
"Child, I am holding you, I'll never let go."
