Masquerade

by Maydee   Mar 5, 2013

This mask I wear is forever in place.
I don't want people to see the real me.
I act different around every person.
I'm scared to let people in.
If you think you know me..
You really don't.
No one truly knows.
I act tough when I need to.
I act happy when I need to.
But inside I'm completely different.
I will never show anyone the real me.
I enjoy having my life the way it is.
On the inside is someone completely different.
Look into my eyes and you will see the difference.
But I will never tell you out loud.
Because this...
This is my own personal masquerade.

Very deep. Love the metaphor of a permanent mask.
