Battle of Her Angels

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 8, 2013

The brightest angel, the darkest angel,
Two but one in the same
Lovely yet frightening they await in cages
To fight to the death, an eerie shame.
She looks with fear, for she loves them both
Chained by her mind
Her aching heart in her throat
She can't stop them in time
They battle, swords drawn,
For the maiden they both claim
Who, she wonders, is stronger?
Who, she ponders, will survive and take blame?
Bloody and bruised, broken and strained,
They cease their fighting to glance her way
Each holds love, each holds care,
But with whom will her heart be shared?
She turns away, flames all around
Tears roll silently as if the rain
Thunder claps, lightning strikes and splits the blood soaked ground
And she is freed of her chains.
She runs to both, fearful and angered
As her hands flutter over their weeping wounds
She scolds each for being endangered
By the other, she feels as if she would swoon.
Her angels, both dark and light,
Hold her heart one half at a time
And for her they'd do anything,
Brother against brother for the love of this maiden...
