Falling in Love is So Delicate

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 9, 2013

For the first time since I last loved
I've smiled so true yet so slight
I never wanted to search for someone
For I would be smothered by fright
Before I never knew
The consequences of giving my heart away
Willing and stupid I handed it over after every "I love you"
Betrayal and tears I had to reluctantly pay.
Falling in love is so incredibly delicate
For I feel as if I'm suspended over an abyss
That threatens my heart yet again, I don't know if I can handle it
If I once again regret this...
Slowly, subtly, before you'll ever see
I will have opened my hands
To show you within my grasp I held what's left of me
Just hoping my hesitation you'll understand.
Might I once more fall in love,
With someone as unique and divine as you
And maybe, just maybe, of my heart you'll ask more
And maybe, just maybe, I'll share it all with you.
Might I be staring into the mouth
Of a serpent called Romance
Or might I be embraced by an angel
Who's light shall forever leave me in a trance...
Falling in love is so delicate
One wrong move could leave you broken
But one right moment could leave you forever happy
In the arms of your beautiful lover...
