Torn Between Two Worlds

Torn between two worlds
With no where left to go
She has so much pain
And yet no one knows

The person that she is
Is lost somewhere in time
Where is she supposed to go
Who is she supposed to find

How can she go on
Without a soul to call her own
She sometimes gets so lonely
She feels she can't go home

Her parents, they don't understand
And her friends don't even know
So she puts on a smile
And off she goes

She holds a porcelain face
A smile plastered there
Yet her eyes they never sparkle
The world seems too unfair

She wants to be excepted
She wants to have friends
She wants to be popular
And she wants to have boyfriends

But she feels that she
Is not good enough
She seems to not be able to get by
The world just is too tough

She plays to be happy
And boy can she act
Her friends think there's nothing
That she seems to lack

They find her perfect
The so called "queen-bee"
But it's the fake person smiling
That they happen to see

She can't be herself
She knows they wouldn't approve
It's really the fake person
That they would all choose

She wants to be happy
But yet she's so sad
It's too late to tell truth
Her friends would be so mad

So she keeps on smiling
And leads on her pack
She goes this way through life
But always thinks back

This is what happens to people
When they don't except who they are
They end up not knowing who to be
Or who they really are

Always be true to yourself
Or you'll end up like her too
It's happened to so many others
Don't let it happen to you

You'll never be happy
And you'll regret your whole life
You'll regret causing yourself pain
And causing yourself all that strife

If you're sad or upset don't smile and hide it
If you're happy please smile and show it
If your mad let people know
Show who YOU are and let people know it!
