Rememberance

by Elizabeth   Mar 13, 2013

You remember?
What do you remember?
Those blissful feelings from a far off place.
The ones you talked of in our place among the timber?
What do you remember of us?
Do you remember the feel of your skin on mine?
Or the way we used to lay in the sun for hours.
Blue eyes in to green, the smell of the flowers so divine.

I remember the betrayal
Ink in a glass of water,
Clouding my head through to the rails,
and making me think anything against you a lie.

I remember the promises you made but never kept
The way you used to say we were forever..
You meant those words for another and left,
For one better than the likes of me, better
than the scarred lost little girl in the corner.
One who gave you heart and soul for the better...

Remember that one last dance,
You whispered promises of a chance,
And swung me about the room,
To the whispering sigh of a liars tune,
The girl in the black dress,
waiting for her love to confess, an awful deed done
and an awful deed has been wrung.

The icy cold blue eyes now pierce the sky,
The watching green eyes let out a sigh..
