Favorite Mistake

Fairytales had long lost their touch
when from their vow she swayed
for a little girls happily-ever-after dream
shattered the next day

begging for a little love
from someone who couldn't stay
oh she lost her other half
to vices on display

but was it cupid's childish trick
for she met a guy one day
when all she had were doubts and fears
he took them all away

they had loved so secretly
stealing kisses here and there
oh how it felt so dang silly
keeping a secret affair

they went on it like rabbits
she didn't want to stop
but parting was an option
from coming, could not be stopped

so she cherished every moment
hoping time would still
at every touch and taste
crumbled her weak will

but he could not hold on no more
then to her dismay
said the words, let her go
for a new love he adored

in the end the girl was back
with fresh, unhealed wounds
but that chance she'd still partake
for he, her favorite mistake
