A tear's location

by Lyndy   Dec 9, 2012

The quiet city, in the midst of battle
falls into brief slumber
as glittering shards come to deny
a growing darkness in the depths of my heart

sleep enveloped in silver stardust
see my hopes dangle through fingertips
when a hollow laugh reaches my ears
stirring the bosoms of a rose (with fear)

I stand to face a brook
sending a prayer-filled melody
for a dream - to the stars reflected in deep sea
blossoming from lips that don't speak

I soon will sigh away
all for just a bit of peace
to the West! the sun's farewell path
and wither to mirages of a memory
