Broken Lullaby

by Hannah McCallson   Mar 21, 2013

Broken lullaby
in a world of broken dreams
hear the silent cries
of a girl who cannot scream

who dances in the flames
and cries crimson regret
who lives unashamed
in her mother's silhouette

learning from a being
poisoned to the core
with prejudice and seeing
an evil not yet born

The mirror is but lies
and every time she sees
what's showing on the outside
she lets out her final scream

Broken lullaby
they cannot hear you now
there's no story tonight
so fly away to the clouds

I liked this lullaby. It moves the reader in a way. Keep it up.

Thank you (: I turned it into a short song for my first album and I based it off of my cousin... so I put a lot of thought into it.
