Puppet Strings

by TheGirlSittingAllByHerself   Mar 22, 2013

You're just a boy
I'm just a girl
But hovering over us,
Suffocating us,
Entrapping us,
Is the foreboding feeling
That we're not going to last.

Being forced apart
Against our own terms
Is the sickest fate I could of ever thought of.
Between us
Everything is bright lovely perfect,
Though take a second glance,
And you shall notice,
Darkness surrounding our smooth, calm bubble of happiness.

If I had one wish,
It would be to be the writer of our story
To be able hold our fate in my hands
To change it,
Adjust it as I please.

But for now
I am a sullen, lonely character
Pushed up on the stage
Puppet strings controlling me
Manipulating my every move.
When I smile
It feels forced
Like more strings being pulled.

One day I shall get my wish
And write a story all my own
No outside help
No prying disturbances
It will be mine & only mine.
