A Poem Just For You

by TheGirlSittingAllByHerself   Jan 1, 2013

I think of all the times I laughed at something funny you said,
All those times I couldn't help but smile at you,
You had made so happy,
While I was in such a dark place,
You pulled me out of there,
When I thought all hope was lost.

Months later you returned my feelings,
With a eager smile on your face,
Acting like pretending all this time that you had no interest in me,
Was no big deal,
You said sorry,
And you admitted that I was the only girl who ever cared about you,
I remember smiling in delight,
At what I thought, no knew, the truth was all along.

No way could you have been an unrequited love,
That was impossible,
When I had loved you so,
Love was all I could think about the second you told me all this,
I thought about all the times you had made my heart flutter,
When we had held hands for the first time,
All those times I had wished you were mine.

That wish could finally come true,
I could be yours,
& you could be mine,
And everything could be okay,
Like I had wished so long ago.
