My Light

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 23, 2013

The whispers that haunted my every thought
Urging me to be someone they want
Burned and died when she came into sight
Blaring an ominous and gratefully bright light
Within my consuming darkened heart
Resurrecting the murmurs of love
I buried alive, once demonic and tearing me apart
From the inside of my withering soul,
Thankfully of such morbid thoughts, I am rid of.
At the feet of my gracious light I kneel
Crying joyous tears, thanking her continuously
Sensing more things than I've ever been able to feel
Grasping her hand, for once, fearlessly
She smiles down at me
Stars for eyes, they twinkle gently
Lovingly, she caresses my face
Trailing my tears in her wake
My quickening breath
Slows ever so slightly
As she leans down and against my neck
Lays her other hand softly
Her eyes gazing into mine,
My heart beating in an unidentifiable rhythm,
Her lips rest on mine, I sigh,
And my light, my love, has finally given me reason
To be alive, to be in love.
