Maimed

Few in this world know what it feels like-
to hurt so much, deep down,
in your heart, your bones.
You begin to feel it, as a physical pain
in the depths of your heart
and deep in your despair you realize
that a wound like this will never heal.
The hurt that has been-will always be,
in days to come the pain may fade,
but somewhere deep inside it will always be there.
Like a volcano, waiting to erupt hot lava spilling
out of your heart.
This is how it is to feel
broken, maimed and destroyed.
