A REASON TO LIVE

by Tom Essien   Apr 4, 2013

Every night before I sleep
I search my soul to see If there is any need for tomorrow
And as I reflect on the eras of failures and frustration
Then I remember your smiles of beauty that comes from just within
And yes there is a reason to be alive.

In the early hours of morrow
My thoughts not firm enough to see me wake
Yet then memories of what life will be with you by my side floods in
And expands the grace to open my eyes.

The fresh breeze of the first few hours,
My wake up calls all tested and confirmed that I am still alive
And yet one more reason why I am here replays.

And then I kiss the image of you with a smile and the promise that I will love you with my life.
While I let my thoughts drift into what lays ahead today
The hurdles, the trials and the victories
Above all is JUST YOU the only reason why I choose to breath.
