The Visit

by olalekan oladejo   Apr 23, 2013

.....finally, she came
For the first time
Sporting a placid look
Devoid of emotion

How was the passage?
What is it like over there?
Is there really life beyond?
Truly, will there be judgement day?

But like a meteor,
Her sudden appearance
Overlapped with her fading
Into the heavily fogged background.

Such insolence!

Just like the last departure
No goodbyes were said
Just sketch of smile
Fade along with her face.

And she was gone.

I'm intrigued..this seems to me like some sort of journey that you did not take together? A few minor grammatical errors that can be fixed up easily...I did like it...

      Thank you Hellon.

You are right, its in memory of a late friend. She passed on months ago, but came visiting (in my dream) the night before I wrote the poem.

Will take another look and remove the errors.

      Thank you.
