Judge Comment:

This piece is truly elegant... It does read like a psalm.. I admire the graceful tone of this spiritual life poem, but also the nature base message makes me speechless.

Its simplistic and easy to read but also its in depth emotion is very powerful.

It reads as a moral/message... I really like that, story based poem almost like a childhood fable, and that is what makes this poem unique in my eyes.

Love the message of the young tree conversing with the wind, and tieing the title into the poem is very unique, The author did a lovely job with this poem!!

Judge comment

Everything about this poem poetically (minus the message) is against everything I usually like.. and thats why it's so interesting that I have almost an obsession with reading this poem. The message itself is overwhelming and something believers really need to remind themselves. I also like how this can be relatable to someone of any faith, it kind of crosses the border with using "wind" and creation. There are so many things we think we can do better, or should be, or WANT to be and we have to remember we aren't for a reason. It's a hard message to swallow but also so comforting at the same time. For a poet new to PnQ they've sure got my attention quick!

"But only you can made wind visible."

I would either remove "can" or it was a typo and you meant "make" :)

I so love this.. Your imagery is so strong. There are so many times we all struggle with who we are and why. There always seems to be someone else with a better personality, better something that we covet and question "well why didn't I get that, too?". But you expressed it so perfectly here... He made us who we are for a reason. He has a plan for us, so be content and revel in that.

This reminded me a verse my church often urges us to read.. and bits and pieces came to mind that we are "fearfully and wonderfully made".

This poem really made me think (if you didn't notice lol) and I thought it was really beautiful. I, too, like how you used Wind.. I feel like it made God more tangible.. one of those "you can feel it but can't see" though you really can see wind. Well, you know what I mean :)

"And" is misspelled in the third stanza. Typos are a pain, I know. xD

Anyway -- this kind of writing is my favorite. When it deals with God and washes a sense of peace over you, it's refreshing. Especially with the stanza

And if not a bird, O Wind,
Why was I not made a stream?
Wth my cool, clear waters
I could quench a thousand's thirst.

It's a really sensory stanza to me. Gives a refreshing feeling, and reading it, feels like you're immersed in water. That was gorgeous. (Another little typo. Gotta love iPads! 'With' is missing the 'i' in the third line]

The questioning nature of this poem is why I love it. And the capitalization of the word 'wind' so that the readers knows that it's in reference to God, and not one just speaking to himself.

The last stanza is beautiful. There's such a soft, poetic feel, I can't describe it. This is going in my favorite poems.

Be content, little tree
And soon you will be able to see
That those things are all good and well,
But only you can made wind visible.

^The last line is what made this whole poem, I feel. It's an impactful statement to end with, and a point that not many people tend to think about. This is gorgeously written.
